Terms & Conditions

The ground rules for using MyHomieo — written to be read, not just scrolled past.

Last updated: 3 October 2026

The short version

  • You must be 18 or older to use MyHomieo.
  • Be honest, be kind, and respect other members — no harassment, scams or fake profiles.
  • You control your profile’s visibility: public, private, and your soulmate profile can be hidden.
  • Events, groups and plans are run by members. Meet people in person with care.
  • Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel, and you keep access until the period you paid for ends.

This summary is just a guide. The full Terms below are what apply.

01About these terms

Welcome to MyHomieo. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and MyHomieo (“MyHomieo”, “we”, “us”) and apply to your use of our website, our mobile app and everything we offer through them (together, the “Service”).

MyHomieo is a hyperlocal community service that helps friends from the same hometown who now live in the same city find each other — through friends and people search, hometown and community groups, events and companion plans, plus an optional soulmate space.

By creating an account, ticking the box on the sign-up form, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use MyHomieo.

02Who can use MyHomieo

  • You must be at least 18 years old, and legally able to enter into a binding agreement.
  • You must give us accurate information when you sign up — including your name, email address, phone number, date of birth and gender — and keep it up to date.
  • You may keep only one account, and it must be your own. Do not create an account for someone else or pretend to be another person.
  • You must not have been removed from MyHomieo before for breaking these Terms or the law.

03Your account

You sign up with your email address and a password, and confirm your email with a one-time code we send you. You are responsible for keeping your password and codes safe and for everything that happens under your account. If you think someone else has accessed your account, tell us straight away through our Contact page.

During or after sign-up you may add details such as your hometown, current city, interests, schools and colleges, occupation and photos. You choose what to share, but some features work only if the relevant details are filled in.

04What MyHomieo offers

  • Friends and people search — find members by name or see members from your hometown who live near you, follow them and message them.
  • Hometown groups and community groups — join the chat group for your hometown-and-city pair, join public groups, ask to join private ones, or create your own.
  • Events — browse and register for events, or host your own and invite co-hosts and check-in staff.
  • Companion plans — post a plan, say who you are looking for and who is paying, and accept or reject requests to join. Accepted companions are added to a private group for the plan.
  • Soulmate — an optional space where you can browse matches, send a request, and chat once the other person accepts.
  • Chat and notifications — messages between members and alerts about activity on your account.

We are always improving MyHomieo. We may add, change or remove features, and some features may be available only on certain devices, in certain cities, or on certain paid plans.

05Profiles, privacy and visibility

  • Your profile can be public or private. If it is private, other members need your approval before they can follow you, and they can only start a conversation with you once you have accepted them.
  • Your soulmate profile is separate and can be hidden at any time from your settings.
  • To show members near you, MyHomieo uses the location you provide. Your hometown and current city are visible on your profile as described in the app.
  • Information about how we collect, use and protect your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of your agreement with us.

06Content you share

You keep ownership of the photos, text, messages, plans, events and other content you post (“Your Content”). To run the Service, you give MyHomieo a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, display, resize and distribute Your Content within MyHomieo, and only for as long as it stays on the Service.

You are responsible for Your Content. You promise that you own it or have the right to share it, and that it does not break the law or anyone else’s rights. We may remove content that breaks these Terms, but we are not required to monitor everything members post.

07Community rules

To keep MyHomieo safe and welcoming, you agree not to:

  • harass, bully, threaten, stalk, shame or discriminate against anyone, or share hateful, violent or sexually explicit content;
  • pretend to be someone you are not, use a fake profile, or use another person’s photos or details;
  • contact members who have asked you to stop, or use MyHomieo to find someone who does not want to be found;
  • use the Service for scams, fraud, money requests, spam, advertising or selling products or services without our permission;
  • post a plan, group or event that is illegal, misleading, unsafe, or intended for anything other than a genuine meet-up;
  • share anyone’s personal information, photos or private messages without their permission;
  • copy or scrape data from the Service, interfere with how it works, try to access accounts that are not yours, or reverse engineer our software;
  • use MyHomieo if you are under 18, or knowingly let anyone under 18 use it.

If you see behaviour that breaks these rules, please tell us through our Contact page so we can look into it.

08Meeting people in person

MyHomieo helps you connect with other members, but we cannot guarantee who someone is or how they will behave. We do not run criminal or background checks on members. You are responsible for your own safety whenever you talk to or meet someone.

  • Take your time getting to know someone before sharing personal details or meeting.
  • Meet in a public place the first few times, and tell a friend or family member where you are going.
  • Never send money to someone you have not met in person, and be careful with links and requests that feel unusual.
  • Leave and report anything that makes you uncomfortable.

09Groups, events and companion plans

Groups, events and companion plans are created and run by members, not by MyHomieo. MyHomieo is not the organiser of, and is not responsible for, member-run gatherings unless we clearly say otherwise.

  • Hosts and organisers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, for running their events safely and lawfully, and for any tickets, prices or refunds they set.
  • Some events link out to a host’s own website or ticketing page. If you use one, the host’s terms apply, and any payment you make goes directly to the host.
  • Registering for an event on MyHomieo may give you a digital ticket with a QR code. Entry is decided by the host and can be refused if the rules of the event are broken.
  • On a companion plan, the creator decides who joins and is the admin of the plan’s private group, and how any costs are shared is agreed between the members involved. MyHomieo does not handle or guarantee those payments.
  • Group admins can set who may join and may remove members who break the rules.

10Paid plans and payments

MyHomieo is free to join. We also offer optional paid subscription plans (such as Monthly, Annual and Pro) that add extra features. The price, billing period and features of each plan are shown in the app before you buy. Prices are shown in Indian rupees or US dollars depending on your location.

  • Payments are processed securely by our payment partner, Razorpay. We do not store your card or bank details.
  • Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorise us and our payment partner to charge the plan price each period.
  • You can cancel auto-renewal at any time from Profile → Subscription. After you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again.
  • Switching to a different plan replaces your current plan once the payment for the new plan is confirmed.
  • We do not give partial refunds for unused time on a plan that worked as described. If something went wrong with a payment or a plan, you can make a claim and we will refund you where the claim is valid — see our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
  • We may change plan prices or features. We will tell you before a change affects your next renewal, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
  • Taxes, such as GST, are included or added as shown at checkout.

11Third-party services

We use trusted third parties to run MyHomieo, such as payment, email and cloud storage providers. The Service may also link to websites or services that we do not control, including pages hosted by event organisers. We are not responsible for their content or practices, and your use of them is at your own risk.

12Our rights

The MyHomieo name, logo, software, design and everything else we create belong to us or our licensors. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable permission to use the Service in line with these Terms. You must not copy, sell or misuse any part of it. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

13Suspending or ending your account

You can stop using MyHomieo at any time. To ask for your account to be deleted, contact us through our Contact page. Cancelling a paid plan does not delete your account, and deleting your account does not by itself refund a plan you have paid for.

We may warn you, limit features, suspend or permanently remove your account or content if you break these Terms or the law, put other members at risk, or if we are required to by law. If we remove your account for breaking these Terms, we may refuse to let you rejoin.

14Disclaimers

MyHomieo is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it running well, but we do not promise that it will always be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that you will find friends, companions, matches or any particular result. Members’ profiles, messages, plans, groups and events are their own, and we do not check or endorse them.

15Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, MyHomieo is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for what other members or third parties say or do (online or in person), or for events, plans or groups run by members. Our total responsibility to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or ₹1,000 if you have not paid us anything.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under applicable law.

You agree to cover us against claims and costs arising from your breach of these Terms, Your Content, or your misuse of the Service, to the extent allowed by law.

16Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If a disagreement arises, please contact us first so we can try to sort it out. If it cannot be resolved, the courts of India will have jurisdiction over it.

17Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time — for example, when we add features or when the law changes. When we make important changes, we will let you know in the app or by email. If you keep using MyHomieo after the changes take effect, you agree to the updated Terms. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised.
