Is MyHomieo free to use?

Yes — creating an account, joining hometown groups, and browsing events and plans is free. Some events set their own ticket prices, which go directly to the host running that event. Optional paid plans (Monthly, Annual and Pro) are available for extra perks, and you can cancel any time.

How does hometown matching actually work?

Every hometown-to-city pair — say Lucknow to Mumbai — has its own group. When you set your hometown and current city, MyHomieo shows you that group and you join it in one tap. Each room holds up to 1,000 members, so when one fills up a new one opens automatically.

What’s the difference between an event and a plan?

An event is a scheduled gathering — think festivals or meetups — with registration, digital tickets and QR check-in, or a link to the host’s own registration page. A plan is an informal ask for company, like finding someone to catch a movie or go on a trip with. No tickets, just a headcount, and you choose who joins. When you accept a request, a private group with your plan’s name is created and every accepted companion is added automatically, so you can discuss the plan together.

Who can host an event or start a community?

Anyone with a MyHomieo account. There’s no separate “host” account type — hosting is a role you pick up per event, and you can invite co-hosts or check-in staff to help run it.

Which cities does MyHomieo support?

MyHomieo works across India — metros like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune, with hometowns ranging from big cities to small towns — and for Indians abroad in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, London, Toronto, Vancouver, California, New Jersey, Texas, Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore. We’re adding more cities as the community grows.

Is my profile visible to everyone?

You control this. Set your profile to private and new followers need your approval, or keep it public so anyone can follow you directly. Your soulmate profile can be hidden any time.

If your profile is public, anyone can message you. If it’s private, others can only message you after you approve their follow request — so you never get unwanted messages.

Can I find old school or college friends?

Add the schools and colleges you attended to your profile so old classmates recognise you, search by name, and browse friends from your hometown who live near you. Once you find someone, you can follow and message them.
